Illustrations and scultures by Arlen Schumer, Eugene Mattos, Magimation, Carlos Ramos
Original robot design by Arlen Schumer/Dynamic Duo [link]
Color by Patrick Raske
Arlen Schumer designed our robot in 1997, and we were thinking it might be time to add some new versions to the original. And who better than some of our new friends at DeviantArt?
So we'd like to ask you to design your version of our Frederator robot, and we'll pay $100 each to the versions we'd like to use. We're interested in any style interpretation you like to draw in: traditional, illustrator, water color, sculpture, CG, anime, cute, mean, whatever.
I'm putting up a poster of the different version we've used so far and the artists who created them. We'll decide on final selections about once every week.
You can send your jpeg files (300dpi please) to hey@frederator.kz. We'll post all entries and announce the winners as we get them.
Thanks in advance. You guys have all been great to us.
Can these designs be ... you know, "fun" looking? Like looney toons (stretchy etc) style? Or would you want them relatively 'industrial' and stable like the original?
Even if I can't participate, I will support wtahever entries are given, but I must say, the designs you have now are completely awesome!!!! It's impossible to choose form the vast selection you have! They're all awesome versions!

Aww! All the Fred bot needs is a little love! Its great to see different artist's versions of the logo, i especially enjoy "magimation"'s. He certainly give a great sence of 3D to the giant.
What i like about the whole concept is that it's very close to a Popart style, so retro!
Keep up the great stuff Frederator-Studios!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Any style will work if it's good. Cartoony? Fun? Absolutely.
Thanks, Fred
